A new winter camp
comprising six large four man tents and a central community Tepee
located at the Cricket Pitch (1500 metres elevation) commenced
operation in the 2009 season. This is the only commercial accommodation
available within the Mt.Stirling Alpine Resort. See Alpine
Camp for details. Private camping is permitted in both
summer and winter and visitors are permitted to stay in the refuge
huts (GGS and Bluff Spur adjacent to the summit and Razorback near
King Saddle). The huts are basic and cannot be booked in
advance. You will need to walk or ski all of your supplies and
personal equipment in and it is strongly advised that you carry a tent
in the event that the hut is already occupied.
Stirling
Experience operate a self contained lodge on a farming property out of
Merrijig. The lodge is about three quarters of an hour drive from
the mountain and ideal for school and family groups.

Accommodation is for 24 people in 3 x 4
bed bunk rooms (including 2 with double beds) downstairs and a loft
dormitory which sleeps 12. Crockery cooking utensils etc.
are supplied. Guests need to supply sleeping bags, food and
personal effects. Discount XC Ski Packages are available for couples
and families, these include 2 days accommodation and 2 days skiing on
Mt.Stirling.

You will enter Mansfield at the North end
of High Street (main shopping street)

Drive through to the end and turn
right into Chenery Street.

At the top of Chenery Street turn
left into the Mt. Buller Road and travel for approximately 5
kilometres to the Jamieson Road turn off.

Turn right into Jamieson Road and
drive for 10 kilometres crossing the Delatite River at Piries.

Pass the Goughs Bay turn off and
Boorolite CFA shed on your right and turn left into Boorolite -
Chapel Hill Road.

Drive 2.2 kilometres and turn right
into Fielding Lane.

The Shearers Quarters is the first gate
on the left. Enter, cross the bridge, pass the new house
and turn between the first shed and shearing shed.
